Natalia Incera, Commercial Technician and Prosertek’s administrative employee in Back Offices, she works with ports at national and international level, as well as with companies with their own port terminals. After 5 years of professional career in the company, let’s get to know his career path and his perspective on Prosertek.
How would you describe your career and evolution at Prosertek over the last 5 years?
My professional career has been a journey of constant growth and learning.
I started my journey at Prosertek in the commercial area making small spare parts offers, always supervised by my area manager. My initial focus was on understanding the internal processes, acquiring skills in this new sector…
Two years later, pushed by my manager, I did more tasks within the commercial area, to the point of doing all the administrative documentation related to the department and making more complex offers.
I have participated in training courses, workshops and conferences to keep myself updated. One of the most important achievements has been to maintain and even exceed the annual sales targets within my area TAS (Technical Assistance Service).
In summary, my career has been a combination of learning, growth and constant contribution. I am excited for what the future holds.
What are the key responsibilities you perform in your day-to-day work?
On a day-to-day basis, I have several key responsibilities that contribute to the efficient functioning of my job:
I provide immediate response to all bids that come into the TAS area, maintaining a high level of customer service and communication.
I execute the administrative tasks of the commercial department at the level of public tenders, private companies, keeping the platforms with updated documentation, working with companies with their own platforms…
I conduct meetings with customers for future maintenance projects of the equipment installed in the facilities, offering quick and adapted solutions.
How has your commercial management and marketing background influenced your current role at Prosertek?
Marketing training gives you a deep understanding of business strategies and how they align with company objectives; enabling you to make informed decisions and contribute to overall success.
Marketing teaches you how to communicate clearly and persuasively, which is essential for presenting ideas and negotiating. It fosters creativity by developing innovative campaigns and you learn to build strong relationships with customers.
The world of marketing is constantly evolving, and your training prepares you to adapt to market changes, new technologies and emerging trends. It gives you the essential skills to contribute to the efficient running of the business – from strategy to execution.
From your perspective, what are the most significant benefits of working at prosertek and in the port equipment industry?
The corporate benefits are diverse and range from the more traditional ones, such as health and training, to the more recent ones, such as teleworking.
When working in the centre of Bilbao, Prosertek provides 50% of the rental cost of a garage space. It also helps with travel expenses when visiting clients and suppliers. They offer training opportunities for professional development. And they have discounts on private medical insurance, which contributes to health and wellbeing.
In addition to the traditional benefits, Prosertek offers flexible working hours and teleworking, which allows you to adapt your work to your personal needs. It has VIP tickets to sporting events, both in football and basketball. We have a healthy eating point in our offices, which the company makes sure is at our disposal. In addition, they offer a day off for birthdays.
Speaking of values, you mention resilience, responsibility and leadership. How do you think these values are reflected in Prosertek’s culture and in your daily work experience?
Values such as resilience, responsibility and leadership are fundamental within the organization.
Resilience allows us to face challenges with flexibility and we look for creative solutions. I learn from failures and strive to constantly improve.
Responsibility is key within an organization, because if people are not responsible for their daily work, objectives cannot be met. Personally, I fulfill my tasks with seriousness and punctuality.
Regarding leadership, from my point of view, we should all be leaders in our day-to-day work and encourage the good behavior of the group towards common goals and the achievement of general objectives.
How has Prosertek changed since you started working here, especially in relation to market demands and industry trends?
Since I started working here, I have witnessed major changes in our organization. New tools have been implemented that streamline tasks, and have transformed the way we communicate. After the pandemic, we have adapted to telecommuting.
In terms of the market, we have grown a lot internationally and today we receive requests for quotations from clients all over the world.
You work with clients nationally and internationally, how do you manage the complexity and differences in processes and regulations in different countries and ports?
Working with national and international clients involves facing significant differences in processes and regulations.
The international client always requires more time when making offers, either due to regulations or to clarify the points to be dealt with, through meetings with teams. In addition, administrative and technical documentation is often more complex.
With the national client the offers are made more quickly, since we are a reference in the port sector at national level, they ask us for offers of elements already installed by Prosertek.
How would you describe the work environment at Prosertek and how does it contribute to your satisfaction and that of your colleagues?
It is a collaborative work environment that encourages open communication and cooperation. We have a flexible work environment that allows us to balance personal and professional life. It offers us opportunities for professional growth, with the possibility of taking courses. Currently and as of summer 2023 we have new offices.
Does Prosertek offer opportunities for professional development and internal growth? Have you personally experienced any of these opportunities?
Yes, in fact, I have personally experienced these opportunities in my career path. Internal promotion allowed me to advance to perform tasks in positions of greater responsibility. In addition, training programs have helped me to acquire new skills and grow professionally.
Looking ahead, how do you envision your role at Prosertek and how do you hope to contribute to the company’s continued success?
In the future I want to help Prosertek grow by focusing on making things simpler and more efficient, looking for new opportunities with potential clients. My goal is to adapt to change and continue to meet our clients’ expectations.
