Marine Bollards

Bollards very often vary between countries and ports due to historical and geographical factors, making it difficult to find a bollard that suits the needs of each port terminal.

Prosertek, as a worldwide supplier, is designing and producing bollards of different shapes and sizes suited to most of the existing docks. The high quality and stability of our bollards also guarantee a long service life with minimal maintenance.

Design

We take factors such as the most demanding load combination possible, the type of facility and the adhesion of the surface into account when designing the anchoring of our bollards. This allows us to determine the most suitable shape, size and material of the bollard to ensure maximum quality and strength.

The design for our bollards is based on European standard: Eurocode 3 (EN 1993), standard for the design of steel structures. The same is optimized using finite elements analysis (FEA) software. We can design and produce bollards upon other standards and recommendations to satisfy special necessities of our worldwide clients.

Types of Bollards

At Prosertek, we design and manufacture six different types of specific characteristic adaptive bollards for each berthing terminal.

TEE-P Bollard

One of the main features of this bollard is its robustness and durability, thanks to its compact design. It also has wide mooring angles, both vertically (from -15º to 70º) and horizontally (180º).

It is easy to install and is ideal for multi-purpose terminals, allowing mooring from cargo vessels to floating structures.

HORN-P Bollard

The HORN-P bollard is very practical, thanks to how its characteristic shape allows two moorings to share the same bollard. Its compact design also makes it a consistent and resistant bollard.

This characteristic model enables wide mooring angles vertically ( -15º to 70º) and horizontally (180º).

KIDNEY-P Bollard

THE KIDNEY-P model stands out for its versatility, thanks to how its design makes it suitable for use in multi-purpose terminals and for mooring from fishing vessels or pontoons to ferries or roll on-roll offs.

Prosertek USA particularly recommends vertical mooring angles from 0º to 40º for this type of bollard, although it can be used from -15º to 60º. It works best at 180º for horizontal moorings.

STRAIGHT-P Bollard

The STRAIGHT-P bollard offers the combination of just a few anchors with design, durability and a great variety of anchoring angles, both vertically (0º to 45º) and horizontally (180º).

All of these features make it a multi-purpose bollard, ideal for the mooring of all types of boats from floating structures to container carriers.

HAMMER-P Bollard

Our HAMMER-P bollard stands out for its special shape, which makes it both versatile and robust. It also requires very few anchors (4) to guarantee optimum resistance and a long service life.

It enables mooring from 0º to 45º vertically and 180º horizontally. However, Prosertek recommends angles between 0º and 25º vertically for optimal mooring.

DOUBLE-P Bollard

The DOUBLE-P model has only four anchors capable of guaranteeing optimal resistance of the bollard. It is also robust with a long service life.

Its dual design makes it the ideal bollard for multi-purpose terminals, offering wide mooring angles, both vertically (0º to 45º) and horizontally (2x to 160º) with the option of using it with multiple moorings.

INCLINED-P Bollard

The INCLINED-P bollard has a high load capacity thanks to its four anchors, making it a solid and durable option for mooring all types of boats.

It allows wide mooring angles, both vertically (0º a 45º) and horizontally (180º). Prosertek especially recommends the 0º to 25º range for vertical mooring and 180º for horizontal mooring.

TRICORN-P Bollard

The TRICORN-P bollard model is capable of offering significant resistance and durability with minimal maintenance, as well as a compact and solid design. These features make it the ideal bollard for multi-purpose terminals.

One of its particular features is its wide range of mooring angles, from -15º to 60º vertically and 180º horizontally.

BITT-P Bollard

The characteristic shape of the BITT-P bollard allows it to have large mooring angles vertically (from -15º to 60º) and horizontally (180º).

Its compact design with few anchors (4) also makes it a robust part with a long useful life, as well as easy to install in all types of terminals.

Materials

Choosing the right material for the bollards can be decisive when it comes to guaranteeing features such as high load capacity, resistance or holding force.

Traditionally the bollards are made of following materials:

Protective coatings

Our bollards come with a coating adapted to their functionality to protect them from possible damage from sea water, abrasion and impact or splashes with mineral oils, gasoline or aliphatic hydrocarbons.

We also have bollard protection coatings for corrosion categories C5-M according to ISO 12944-6 standard and according to NORSOK M-501 system no. 1.
