Following our 25th anniversary celebrations, we are now planning ahead. And what better way to do this than to continue working towards achieving our plans for the future; plans that above all focus on industry 4.0 and the oil and gas sector, with the aim of achieving a turnover of 20 million euros in 2020.
A three-year window involving all Prosertek divisions and staff, in addition to the subsidiary companies, to ensure that the company continues to be a leader for another 25 year and many more besides. How are we going to do this?
First and foremost, with innovation and investment. The rubber production plant located in the El Campillo industrial estate (between Abanto and Zierbena) is immersed in a LEAM process with the automation of production processes. This innovative project in terms of processes is focused on a MES management and control system for this plant, involving an investment of 1 million euros.
This investment will be used to modernise the production lines and purchase machinery, as well as implement innovative sensor systems, which will help to optimise processes and to increase the production capacity of the plant. We should mention that this factory forms part of the marine fenders division.
One of Prosertek’s future plans focuses on the oil and gas sector, which accounts for 60% of our turnover, which we hope to increase to 70% by 2020. The plant is currently located in the Bildosola industrial estate (in Artea) specialsing in the development of gangways, quick release hooks, boarding bridges for cruises and monitoring systems. This line of business is expected to expand, covering an enclave of 6,000 square meters of land and 2,000 square meters of beach, the purpose of which includes logistics optimisation.
International Markets
As could only be expected, international expansion is also important for the future development of a company. For this reason, Prosertek has plans to increase our presence in Europe, Africa, America and the Middle East. We have already implemented projects in these countries in the past (the United States, Panama, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, France, Holland, Italy, etc.) and will continue to do so in the present. Evidence of this is the manufacture of jetways for the company with headquarters in Belgium, Besix in Egypt and Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) in Kuwait, as well as orders for systems that assist in berthing that involve monitoring during the approach to the port and docking, in countries ranging from Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Colombia to Panama.
We have been doing this for 25 successful years, and continue developing these projects to this very day while we will continue to be leaders in port equipment into the future, thanks to these lines of actions.
