In its constant search to adapt to its clients’ needs, Prosertek is moving its US headquarters from Miami to Houston. The new office entered into operation 7 July 2020.
Miami was the first piece in Prosertek’s internationalisation strategy. Years later, and with our presence firmly established in the United States, Prosertek assessed its priorities and realised that a location like Houston is more interesting for the development of our North American business line, heavily focused on the Oil & Gas sector.
In other words, at Prosertek, we want to be closer to our clients, and in the United States, as well, so we can dive into new projects.
Prosertek’s new journey in Houston will still be led by Imanol Aburto, director of Prosertek America and a professional with over 20 years of experience in internationalisation and business development abroad.
Houston, influential location between Texas and Louisiana
Why Houston? While our activity is still fundamentally linked to North America with projects from Vancouver and Seattle to Florida, our most cutting-edge projects are located in the state of Texas and neighbouring Louisiana. This is why Houston, the fourth metropolis in the United States in terms of population, is an ideal location to conduct a personal relationship with the most cutting-edge agents in the industry.
One of our most promising projects in Texas was winning a contract to supply 2 gangways and 14 TCN1600 fender system sets. This project was awarded by Texas International Terminals in Galveston and will be supervised by BoMac contractors. The contract includes 2 gangways and fenders for new docks 3 and 4, as well as 2 new revolving dolphin structures.
Moreover, in Louisiana, we have begun a contract with Weeks Marine Inc to supply 20 quick-release hooks and 2 berthing-aid systems. The contract includes equipment for the northern and southern docks for Calcasieu Pass LNG.
Prosertek, a history of internationalisation
Since its foundation as a family company over a quarter century ago, Prosertek has focused on the design, manufacture and installation of all kinds of port equipment, specialised in recent years in the Oil & Gas sector. Throughout its journey, the company worked to scale its business to offer flexible and customised responses to clients all around the world.
Port engineering and sales prospection are the keys that provide for Prosertek’s presence at international terminals, from its production plants in Biscay’s Artea and Abanto Zierbena. And today, internationalisation is the glue that holds the bulk of our activity together, accounting for no less than 75% of sales.
For Prosertek, internationalisation and opening new delegations ultimately means being closer to the client and their needs. In this regard, we must remember that the new subsidiary in Houston (United States) is joining the delegations in Bogota (Colombia) and Perth (Australia), strategic offices that guarantee that our solutions, berthing-aid systems, quick-release hooks, telescopic gangways, fenders and other port equipment can be found all around the globe.
