The 7th Canada Gas & LNG will be held from 21 to 23 May 2019. This event combines a vast technical exhibition and scheduled seminars to outline opportunities and challenges in the gas and LNG sector. This sector doesn’t stop growing. At Prosertek, we also participate in solutions for LNG terminals, such as BAS systems.
This event has grown spectacularly in just a few years, tangible proof of the industry’s boom in the Canadian region. We must not forget that Canada is a country with huge offshore drilling activity, storing 120 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in its eastern regions. It is therefore a promising market for investors and energy companies, and also full of solutions and services to facilitate drilling and transporting natural gas and liquid natural gas.
The LNG event in figures
But let’s talk about what’s waiting for us at this professional event in Vancouver in figures. The event will be attended by over 5000 accredited professionals from the maritime sector, the petrochemical industry, transport and offshore drilling. Over 200 companies will be there with a stand to introduce their solutions, conduct technical exhibitions and make contact within the industry.
Additionally, there is a schedule with seminars and round tables, with over 75 speakers. All this makes for an activity calendar structured around the different areas illustrating current challenges and opportunities in the gas and LNG industry: digitisation, clean energy, work and training, maritime and naval engineering, new exportation areas and infrastructures and gas pipelines.
Prosertek at Canada Gas & LNG
This year, Prosertek didn’t want to miss out on the greatest Canadian event in the gas and LNG sector. The Basque company will be exhibiting at an important fair for a sector of the future, given the increasingly important role of LNG in the environmental challenge of decarbonisation. The stand will provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about different solutions in depth.
There will be a priority space for its cutting-edge port equipment for LNG terminals, such as the BAS (Berthing Aid System). This is an information system that helps to provide safe sailing and efficient transport. It provides real-time data and also creates records of each manoeuvre, facilitating berthing and helping crews and ground staff to make decisions that reduce errors. This top-technology equipment have been successfully used at terminals such as Dunkerque, in northern France, and is present at the fair, with an aim to seek a place in Canada’s offshore facilities.
Prosertek’s stand will also provide information on systems necessary at any port or berthing platform, such as telescopic gangways, quick release hooks and fenders for ship berthing. Prosertek has great experience manufacturing and installing this kind of equipment, which proves essential for gas and methane carriers to berth and take on fuel with maximum efficiency.
