Prosertek has received the Cantábrico Excelente Award 2022 in the category of
Technological Innovation. The Basque provider of port equipment and solutions was
honoured at this 7th edition of the awards held on 30 September at the NH Collection A Coruña Finisterre Hotel.
Presented at an annual gala, the Cantábrico Excelente Awards reward the professional
excellence of companies and institutions in Galicia, Cantabria, Asturias, the Basque
Country and Navarre in a variety of areas such as engineering, training, quality and
sustainability.
In this case, the award went to Prosertek for its commitment to innovation and its
influence on the international ship mooring systems market. Prosertek has the support of a team of professionals boasting high qualifications, experience and constant training. Innovation is an essential value of this vision, which is why our R&D&I Department sits at the heart of the company’s operations alongside our testing and quality teams.
Keeping its eyes on the future has guided Prosertek since its birth in the Basque Country in 1992 as a company in the technical rubber sector. Thirty years down the line, our solutions can now be found on the five continents while our catalogue of cutting-edge products and services has undergone extensive expansion to bring it into line with the changing reality of the port environment.
Customer-focused innovations and solutions
Fully focused on the customer’s needs, Prosertek designs, manufactures and installs its products, also providing a complete after sales and technical assistance service. Our wide range of products includes bollards, port fenders, gangways and cranes.
However, when referring to our R&D&I commitment we must place even greater emphasis if possible on our quick release hooks, a modern mooring system providing solid attachment points for ship mooring lines.
These quick release hooks come with the Dockmoor-RR automatic release device forming part of the BAS system, an advanced technological solution for monitoring port terminal operations while collecting large amounts of information to guarantee safer and more efficient operations, thereby reducing the time and danger involved in port manoeuvres.
Double growth strategy
With a product catalogue well established and recognised at international level, in recent years Prosertek has focused its growth in two areas. On the one hand, is its decided commitment to internationalisation and opening out to the world from the Basque Country. One example of this is the recent setting up of Prosertek Oceania in Australia, a branch that joins others already in place in Colombia and the United States.
On the other, business diversification has driven Prosertek to offer added value services. This line includes becoming a majority shareholder in companies like Siport21, dedicated to naval engineering, and in Mare Commercial Diving, whose activities focus on the underwater inspection and maintenance of ships and ports. In addition, Prosertek has joined the shareholders at Infoport, a company specialising in port digitalization.
